Polypropylene Surgical Mesh

Please note that we are phasing out of the polypropylene mesh business over the next few years, so we may not accept new requests or new customers.

Polypropylene Mesh for surgical and medical device applications, including hernia mesh, urinary incontinence slings, pelvic organ prolapse suspenders, and allograft tissue processing carriers. Our Polypropylene Knitted Mesh (PPKM) fabrics are comprised of monofilament yarns designed for the manufacture of textile fabrics. The polymer and manufacturing processes utilized produce fabrics with properties well suited for the manufacture of medical devices.

The PPKM family of fabrics offered range in filament diameters from 0.08 mm to 0.20 mm, pore sizes from about 0.6 mm to 4.0 mm, and weights from 18 to 100 gsm. Our family of PPKM fabrics are available for immediate delivery. PPKM fabrics are available in widths of 35, 50, and 100 centimeters.

PPKM606 is a unique fabric as it can be split longitudinally to form tapes to any width and length without cutting. A knitted, looped edge is formed when the tapes are separated, which can be very beneficial for devices requiring a soft formed edge. No cutting debris or sharp edges are present as is the case for cut tapes. PPKM301, 403, 501, 601, 603, and 801 are also conducive to this technique.

If cuts or slits are created in our polypropylene mesh fabrics in the machine (warp) direction during the fabrication process or by the end user, it is advisable to place a reinforcing stitch at the end of the cut to prevent it from separating further. Certain styles of our polypropylene mesh fabrics may be more prone to this. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding this.

We are actively developing new designs to meet the growing needs and trends in the biomedical field, so visit us periodically to keep abreast of our new offerings.
